I found nzd1.00 outside Pizza Hut. Alas, not enough to buy a pizza.

In: 289.17
Out:
oil 5.00
salt 2.00
knit group 1.00
I donated the rest of my mohair to the knit group in exchange for 2 balls of acrylic. Think it was a net loss, and I will definitely use what I got.

Stuff has been coming into my house and I'm running out of places to put it. Need to clear out some of the old stuff, so I donated somme clothes, jewellry and yarn to Orphans Aid. I have aspirations to be a minimalist but right now it looks as tho that will have to wait until I'm in my coffin.

I have started saving for Christmas. I put nzd5.00 into my Christmas Club for groceries, and my spare change into a money tin for gifts. I also found 10 cents so that went into the money tin too.

Because next Wed is a public holiday, my benefit has been paid already. But I'm not planning to withdraw any money until next week. The payment due on Jan 2 will also be paid early. So technically I have 5 paydays this month, but I'm budgeting for 5 paydays next month.

Another payday, another nzd289.15, split up in the usual way:
Kiwisaver 20.00
bill paying account 110.00
food 20.00 - spent 11.80
misc 20.00
home maintenance account 20.00
seems to working all right. I think I will keep going until I have fully funded the EF. I thibk I can get it up to $10,000 by the end of next year, barring no unforeseen big expenses.

Today was the Artsenta Market Day, but the weather was bad and not many came. I only made nzd30, but that's better than a kick in the pants. I talked to one artist who's setting up a shop for all things fiber related. She wants to sell my lace scarves and as the commission is only 25% I guess I will put in a few and see how they go.

Day 3 of fasting. I was rather sluggish and light headed on waking, but that's to be expected at this stage. Day 3 is always the most difficult for me. I wasn't physically hungry but mentally wanting to eat and thinking of chucking it in. Drank a lot of water. My weight is down to 81.5 kilos but that is water loss.
Payday nzd289.15. I only had to take out $20 because I am paying my checking account back from misc and not putting any more into medical. So I only needed $20 for food but I'll only be buying grape juice for communion.
I only spent 2.00 donation to Knit Squad. I saw a nice top in Orphans Aid but it was large size and I intend to get back to medium.

Day 2 of fasting. I had forgotten how the minute you start everyone wants to give you food. Today I was offered corn chips with salsa and buttered toast. I am not hungry but wanted to accept out of habit.
I am still drinking tea because I am addicted again, but the foul taste is beginning to develop in my mouth so I will only want to drink water soon.
I received $60 from my Bonus Bonds but can't spend it because it's automatically reinvested.

Payday - 5th this month $289.15. Yay! I will buy produce tomorrow, apart from that I shouldn't need to buy anything this week.
There is a church picnic planned for Sunday, but the weather forecast doesn't look promising. The backup plan is to go to a cafe, so I may end up buying lunch.

In: found 50 cents
Out: Marmite $5.50
Today for breakfast I had oatmeal with sultanas and cinnamon; lunch coconut pancakes with lemon juice and sugar; dinner pasta, potatoes, broccoli and chickpeas.
Someone gave me 4 bags of weaving singles. I knew it would take me ages to get round to using them, so I donated them to the annual craft sale.
I am not buying books and today I found in the Lilliput Library a book called Money Success and You by John Kehoe. It turned out to be one of those motivational books that tell you about other rich people. I don't need to be a multimillionaire and I don't want to be famous; I'm just looking for a basic how to on investing.

There was a load of very good yarn in the thrift store this morning. I could have spent $32, but realised it's only 2 months to Christmas and I'm supposed to be setting money aside for it.
I finished the last of the popcorn.

I realised that if I put all $20 per week of my misc money into the T Harv Eker jars, I can do it with the suggested percentages. It makes sense to try the system the reccommended way when it works for a millionaire, before trying it my own less successful way.
So the reccommended percentages are:
Necessities 55%
Financial Freedom 10%
Long tern Savings for Spending 10%
Education 10%
Play 10%
Give 5%

In $289.13
Out:
flour $1.59
pasta 75 cents
I have been reading about the six jars method of handling your money by T Harv Eker. I'm always looking for more efficient ways to handle my money so will give it a try for the next 6 months. But with the system I'm already using, I can only put $5 aweek from my misc $20 into the jaars, plus my loose change.
I dickered with the amount going into the jars. There didn't seem much point in having a Neccesities jar when I'm already budgeting for that outside of the jars, whereas I really want to beef (oops I mean tofu) up my Financial Freedom jar. So my allocation is:
Financial Freedom 50%
Long Term Savings 25% this is going into my Trans Siberian fund
Education 10% I am saving for recorder lessons
Play 10%
Give 5%
At the moment I have a total of $14 in my jars.

Payday. Today is the last payment of the electricity supplement, so a total of $286.69. I am capping my house maintenace account at $2,800 and my travel fund at $5,000, so was able to transfer $100 from each account to my EF.

I received notification I have been given a $630 rebate on my property taxes. I will have to pay the full quarterly amount in December, but I will only owe around $300 for the last 6 months of the year.

I like to make frequent contributions to my goals, even if they are small. If a week goes by without some progress I get twitchy. Today I found a dime to put to my Trans Siberian fund; I now have $87.
Also I was walking back home when I passed a house with a box of food at the gate marked FREE. I took a can each of green peas, pineapple and pasta sauce.

I was walking down the street when the wind blew a $20 note past me. I can't run much but I sure scuttled halfway down the road to catch it. Another 20 bucks for my EF.

I found a dime. Net gain as I didn't spend anything. I did find a book of lovely lace patterns at the library and spent some time drooling over the gorgeous yarns but didn't purchase anything. Not until my birthday.

My friend gave me the knitting needle, so I gave her the $6. There go my hopes of a no spend week. But since it was ordered last week I guess you could call it deferred spending.
And I found a half dollar by a parking meter.
