Unglued

March 22nd, 2015 at 06:12 am

I walked past my local Member of Parliament's office this morning, down by the campus. Outside was a gold coin lying on the ground, but it turned out to have been glued by some student. I laughed and went on my way, but coming back, I saw it was gone. Someone more determined than me had prised it up.

Reminds me of a concrete globe sculpture in a school parking lot. Embedded in it were various bits of trash and coins. Over the years, people chipped out the coins. I wonder if the artist did not anticipate the vandalism.

I once tried to pick up a quarter that was glued down. This was on a college campus. I looked around for the camera! I couldn't dislodge it, but someone did eventually!
