Clutching my money tight

March 10th, 2015 at 08:40 pm

I have spent only $5 on a prescription in the last 4 days. I finally got it thru my head that if I want to save money I should not go into stores "just to see what's on sale". However I am starting a course tonight, learning the Maori language, so may have to spend on paper, pens and a plate of food.

I put $7 into my 52 Week Money Saving Challenge for a total of $28. I dodn't feel comfortable having cash around the house so, so will invest it in Bonus Bonds.

If saving money is your goal, why not take food from home to eat before the start of class to learn Maori language? I use different types of rolls/buns/wraps to make something very ordinary feel special.

If a sandwich, fruit and beverage is not acceptable, I suggest stew in a small, wide mouth thermos. Are 'Tiffin' cans or Bento boxes available from an ethnic store? They make yesterday's leftovers easily portable to class.

As it's the first class we are having a potluck. I'm taking crackers, crudites, and dip.
