Playing ketchup

OMG canned tomatoes up to nz$1.09 (store brand - the name brands are %1.59) What do I do? They're one of my staples.

Guess I will use less tomato and more onions.

    Is tomato paste available in New Zealand? That's usually cheaper and when you thin it with water it makes good pasta sauce, pizza sauce and tomato flavoring for other things. Doesn't have the nice chunky texture of canned tomatoes, but the flavor is there. Smile
