Day 172

Day 4 of fasting. I felt rather weak doing my volunteer stint this morning and was strongly tempted to have a cookie to relieve the syptoms, but I know it will pass if I persevere. Down to 80.5 kilos.

    fasting isn't great to lose weight your body needs food if anything do the heart smart diet (soup) it is safe and doctor approved ( they made it up for overweight people who needed to lose weight fast for heart surgery)...but fasting isn't the answer

    Please do not harm your health by fasting. You will gain weight once you eat again.

    I appreciate your concerns. I had the same misgivings before I tried it myself and realised humans have adaoted over millenia to a feast or famine environment and can go long periods without food. I regularly fasted for several years and found it benefited me health wise, weight wise and spiritually. There are reasons all major religions promote fasting. I lost the benefits when I went back to old bad habits. Now I have made lifestyle changes I think the benefits will stick. There are a lot of writings on the therapeutic benefits of fasting. The three meals a day habit is only 200 years old.
