New shoes and a book

February 21st, 2015 at 05:51 am

I am in the third month of my spending fast, and today was the first time I have bought anything but food. My sneakers were worn out, so I bought a new pair at 50% off. I also went to the library book sale, where i got a book of knitting patterns. That was a want rather than a need, but i've wanted this particular book for a long time, and thanks to a small tear on one page, which doesn't hinder reading the instructions, it was mine for $2.

I think $2 is great for a knitting book! I love to knit - am currently knitting a pair of slipper socks. What are you working on?

Oh, and I forgot to say - my very close friend taught me to knit - she is from NZ! So I knit continental style like her. (We also run together, but we are much better knitters!)

I'd say you found a bargain in the book and you will probably get more than $2 of pleasure out of it.

I'm working on a mistake rib scarf at the moment - using up the oldest yarn in my stash.
